Enzyme Function FUNCTION: Metalloprotease that acts as a negative regulator of the Wnt signaling pathway by mediating the cleavage of the 8 N-terminal residues of a subset of Wnt proteins. Following cleavage, Wnt proteins become oxidized and form large disulfide-bond oligomers, leading to their inactivation. Able to cleave WNT3A, WNT5, but not WNT11. Required for head formation (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}.

Interact With
Induction INDUCTION: Transiently induced during 3T3-L1 cell differentiation into adipocytes. In vivo, down-regulated by fasting in both white and brown adipose tissues. High-fat diet down-regulates expression in white adipose tissue and up-regulates it in brown adipose tissue. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:23152936}.
Subcellular Location SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane {ECO:0000269|PubMed:23152936}; Single-pass type I membrane protein {ECO:0000269|PubMed:23152936}.
