Enzyme Function FUNCTION: Transcriptional regulator of nitrogen utilization required for nitrogen catabolite repression and utilization of isoleucine, tyrosine and tryptophan as nitrogen sources. Controls expression of the MEP2 ammonium permease, the DUR1,2 urea amidolyase, and the transcription factor STP1, which in turn mediates SAP2 expression, a long-known virulence attribute of C.albicans. Influences the filamentation process depending upon the nitrogen sources available.
