Enzyme Function FUNCTION: DNA-binding protein that promotes DNA condensation into transcriptionally inactive heterochromatin in terminally differentiated avian blood cells. Promotes tight packing of nucleosomes into spherical clusters by binding to linker DNA and subsequent oligomerization.
