(1) The cellular viability at 10 µg/mL and 20 µg/mL for each NP showed a slight but nonsignificant decrease in cellular viability and proliferation rate after 72 h, being more pronounced at the higher concentration compared to controls (p = 0.085) (2) While treatment with CeO2 and AuCeO2 increased the mitochondrial O2 consumption rate slightly (p = 0.354 and p = 0.196, respectively) , TPP–AuCeO2 induced a significant increase compared to untreated control cells (p < 0.01) (3) A decrease in ∆Ψm in cells treated with CeO2 was observed with respect to untreated control cells (p < 0.05) . However, when Au NPs were supported on CeO2, the AuCeO2 solid exhibited a slight ∆Ψm increase compared to negative controls. This ∆Ψm increase was higher and statistically significant when cells were treated with TPP–AuCeO2 (p < 0.01 compared to control cells and p < 0.001 compared to CeO2-treated cells) |
