(1) When the fibrils were conjugated with AuNRs. Independently on the sequence, mature fibrils (Aβ16–22@AuNRs/Aβ25–35@AuNRs/Aβ1–42@AuNRs) were found to be broken into small fragments ;(2) the 42-residue Aβ1–42 peptide and two of its short fragments, Aβ16–22 (16KLVFFAE22) and Aβ25–35 (25GSNKGAIIGLM35) ;(2) the average height of laser-treated conjugates was compared within five random cross sections of each AFM image . A large height difference between Aβ16–22@AuNRs (<10 nm) and Aβ25–35@AuNRs (>60 nm) was observed
